This is a recording of the 2019 event. The focus of this event is how to conduct the speaking exams and exemplars in the target language are included to illustrate poor and good conduct. The assessment standard of the exemplars was not a focus of the training, but the accompanying packs include commentaries which indicate the band/mark range for the exemplars.
The objectives of the course were for delegates to:
- Review the speaking requirements in the specification
- Explore the role of the teacher-examiner in conducting the speaking assessment
- Understand the must and must nots when conducting speaking assessments
- Discuss ways to encourage spontaneous speaking within the oral
- Listen to exemplars to understand good practice
- Explore the full range of Pearson Edexcel support available
