Details:

This 1-hour course is for any teacher with a keen interest in using Power Maths to teach mixed age groups, whether it is someone who already teaches mixed age groups and wants to explore new ideas or a teacher who is new to teaching mixed age groups and wants to develop a greater understanding of how to do it effectively. In this course, teachers will learn about the different approaches to teaching mixed age groups, and their advantages and disadvantages. They will also find out about the many different Power Maths resources available to them to support with planning. And, together with the other delegates, teachers will have the opportunity to consider how to plan for aligned lessons, where pupils from different year groups use Power Maths to work on the same concept. Any challenges and concerns will be addressed too, with the ultimate aim that teachers leave this session with a new sense of confidence (and excitement) about teaching mixed age groups. Please note that this training is suitable for teachers who teach mixed age groups of two different year groups.
