Details:
This free online training, delivered by one of our D&T specialists, supports teachers delivering Pearson Edexcel A Level Design and Technology.
The training focuses on Grids 1, 2 and 3 of the assessment criteria for Component 2 and is designed to build teacher confidence in guiding students through the early stages of the NEA.
Grid 1 covers identification and investigation of design possibilities, Grid 2 focuses on investigating needs and undertaking research, and Grid 3 explores the development of a clear specification.
You will:
• review the assessment criteria for Grids 1, 2 and 3
• examine exemplar student work across all three grids
• discuss and ask questions about interpreting and applying the assessment criteria
• explore practical strategies for supporting students through research, investigation and specification writing
• engage with a principal moderator to clarify expectations and standards for this component.
Please note: A recording of the event will be available to attendees within three days of the event. We will also be releasing a copy on our YouTube channel, accessible via the Professional Development Academy, later in the term.
This event counts as 1.5 hours of CPD. You will receive a certificate via email after the event.
