This course is designed for primary schools who have a digital subscription to Bug Club Phonics. Delegates from a school can join a prebooked interactive session. All those attending will be asked to take part in face-to-face or online activities and will engage with the Active Learn Platform where Bug Club Phonics is hosted.
The course covers:
- How Bug Club Phonics covers the requirements for the teaching of SSP
- How to navigate the ALP website to locate the phonics resources
- A walk through and in-depth look at both a Phoneme and a Language lesson
- An opportunity to explore the decodable readers with Bug Club Phonics
- How and when to assess in Bug Club Phonics
- ALP admin and time for a Q&A
- Building a School Action Plan to ensure effective implementation of the Bug Club Phonics programme in your school.
The table outlines the three different options for how this course can be taken.

N.B. The 2 × 90-minute sessions are delivered on two separate dates and will cover the same content as the 3-hour session.
